OK, so you've got your diet right, and the training is second nature to you now. Or alternatively you're a complete newbie and this is your first comp. Either way that 1.30mins you get on stage alone can be daunting, and this is your chance to really show off your hard work. So not everyone is a dancer or gymnast but you need to know how to move from each pose with some class and style. I've been dancing since I was 3, Ballet, tap, jazz, contemporary, salsa, african and street. My posing routine is very important and I have already started planning what I'm going to do and what music to use for my comp in May. So far I have won best posing routine for every show I've done. I've been taking gymnast and bodypopping classes also throughout the year to keep on improving on the performance. I like to make it as entertaining and as fun as possible. Don't just leave it til the last couple of weeks and just put together a few poses to a tune you like. Put some effort into it, make it individual. If anyone male and female needs any tips on posing routines I'd be glad to help out. I studied Contemporary Dance Choreography at University, so I can help with choreographing quite a technical routine, the initial ideas of a routine and also can help those people that just need a bit of confidence with movement from each pose. Great post and thanks alot Rosie. Your dead right, I saw a guy at the Welsh, easily the best in the class yet was 3rd because he looked as wide as a packet of fruit pastels, just couldnt show off his latts!!! SHAME!
